Some car pictures , car culture , engines , etc to help fill the void. A pretty good sized photo dump from many years of car shows, time helping teams at Mid Ohio, car and bike repairs with friends and stuff around work.

Just something to look at. Some of my car pics to pass the time.

Hope this is enough car culture to last everyone for a while.

There are many cool cars here. Many I have never seen in real life. How did you get into helping out teams Mid-Ohio?

One of my friends was a fabricator who was hired away from an Ohio team to be with Kinetic in the Atlanta area. He introduced me to drivers and owners, Russell Smith, Nic Jonsson, Lee Davis, and Tracy Krohn. Another friend used to do SCCA with Dan Gardner and through him I met Pat Lindsey and Randy Pobst. I knew Duncan Ende from Audiworlds motorsport forum back 15 yrs ago. I would go to the track for races and hang out with several teams. Eventually I got asked since I lived nearby if I wanted to help when they were in the region. I jumped at the chance and got to be an extra crew guy for a bunch of teams over 5 yrs. Its only 80 miles from home but I usually got meals, hotel, passes and swag in exchange for helping with whatever was needed. Got to meet Tommy Byrne the former Indy Lites and Formula 3 driver who instructs at Mid-Ohio at one NASA event where was hired as private course instructor. Hung out with him a few hours while I took pictures and he checked on his students. Also briefly met Todd Lamb , Charles Espenlaub, David Donohue, Eric van de Poele and Ricardo Zonta. Got to know Lee Davis the best. Then there was Drew Ewing with Fandango Racing who I even helped diagnose a bad coil and vacuum leak on his BMW, His brother is Wayne Ewing who was a TV director and Hunter S Thompson’s neighbor. I’ve been filmed by him working on the BMW and signed photo releases in case he ever uses the footage in a film on racing. Haven’t been to the track in 7 yrs now, getting daughter through college and into her 1st job was my focus. Might try to recontact a few guys in the new year.

Thanks, I plan on posting a big Cleveland cars and coffee ran by the Porsche dealership this coming weekend. I really need to start getting back to the track. If I can get all the pieces installed on my Audi that I’ve bought I may do a track weekend.

So weird seeing all these pictures from my neck of the woods.

LMMB confirmed for 9/11 (I’m sure you knew that already) but I’ll be out of town that weekend. It’s the only weekend in September that I had plans for, too...

I was standing near that light blue Maser convertible two years ago at LMMB when the owner said he paid $20K for it. Some other fellow had been commenting about how much it probably cost, and he busted that figure out whilst pointing out that it had the same engine as the 360 sitting next to it.

We are trying to have a small Oppo GTG after the Cars and Coffee at Legacy Village on Sunday. If you can make it I know 3 or more Oppo already plan on being there.

I’m going to be in Cleveland for most of the day with my gf for various functions, but I might be able to slide over to the east side for a bit in the AM. Definitely going to try to make this.
